Torani San Leandro Headquarters
Client: Torani
Location: San Leandro, CA
Team: Hannah Hwang in collaboration with Interior Design team
Torani’s new headquarters was designed alongside the refresh of their brand. The relocation of Torani's corporate office to their new headquarters involved designing the space that aligned with the brand refresh at the time, incorporating graphic elements that reflect Torani's inviting and playful brand language. The project aims to optimize the display and preservation of Torani's historic artifacts, while also effectively conveying the company's rich heritage to visitors.
Torani Logo
A high-density foam logo was installed on a shelf to showcase Torani's iconic red bottles, paying homage to the smaller scaled bottle wall in their previous headquarters. This visually dynamic feature serves as a powerful representation of the brand's visual identity and history.
Custom Cut Gradient Privacy Film
To enhance privacy within the headquarters while maintaining a sense of connectivity, custom-cut gradient privacy film featuring a bubble design was applied. This film not only adds a touch of visual interest but also allows some visibility into the space, promoting a dynamic and engaging environment.
Timeline Wall and Archival Displays
An innovative timeline wall was created, incorporating elements such as wall graphic text, images, and shelves to effectively chronicle Torani's journey. The wall seamlessly aligns with the shelf and Torani artifacts, providing visitors with a comprehensive walkthrough of the brand's ever-evolving story. Museum-grade acrylic display cases were used to archive and protect significant pieces of Torani history.
Inventory of Historical Artifacts: I began by taking inventory of Torani's historical artifacts, including documents, photographs, product samples, and other relevant items. This step was crucial to gather the dimensions and quantities for the timeline wall.
Custom Display Design: After gathering the artifacts, we proceeded to create a custom display that would effectively integrate them with Torani's timeline history. The display design aimed to visually showcase Torani's growth over time and its bright future. Collaboration with Torani's graphic and marketing team was essential at this stage to ensure alignment with their brand guidelines.
Feasibility and Design Intent: Working closely with fabricators, we assessed the project's feasibility and design intent. This involved determining the appropriate materials, construction techniques, and budget constraints. Regular communication and coordination with the fabricators were necessary to ensure that the final product met Torani's vision.
Construction Documentation: Detailed construction documentation was provided, outlining the specifications and measurements required for each display case and shelf design. Accurate documentation was crucial to guide the fabrication process and ensure precise implementation.
Alignment of Printed Text and Physical Displays: One of the critical aspects of the project was aligning the printed text seamlessly with the physical displays and objects. Attention to detail was paramount to create a cohesive and visually appealing experience for visitors.
Torani Family Wall
The Torani Family Wall was thoughtfully designed to showcase every Torani employee, arranged by department. Utilizing a modular grid design, this feature offers flexibility and room for growth, enabling Torani to expand their family while fostering a sense of unity and belonging.
Torani Community
A custom community board was designed, featuring an abstracted pattern inspired by the brand and the classic Torani bottles. This unique design provides an interactive and visually engaging space for employees to share information, creating a sense of community and collaboration.
Customer Play Area
In recognition of Torani's roots in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco, a captivating wall graphic was installed in the Customer Play Area. This graphic showcases the iconic San Francisco skyline, subtly incorporating a Torani bottle as the tallest building. This artistic representation pays tribute to San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood where Torani was originally founded.
